Vinted Advanced Search Guide

Vinted has no Advanced link. Its search tools sit in a row of filter buttons and in the address bar, plus two icons most buyers skip. We tested them on a real account, minus sign and quotes included.

Type a query and the results page opens with a row of filters above the listings. Category, Size, Brand, Condition, Color, Price, Material and Sort by. That row is the advanced search.

Two counters on this page have a ceiling. The results line stops at 500+. The button inside a filter stops at 99+. A popular query never shows its real total.

Three more controls sit outside the row.

Category goes several levels deep. The blue links under the filter row (Electronics, Women, Home) jump into the categories that hold results for your query.

Size follows the category. Shoes get shoe sizes and kids' clothes get ages. Tick two or three sizes for anything that runs small.

Brand matches the field sellers pick from Vinted's list. A listing with Levi's in the title and an empty brand field stays outside this filter. For brands sellers tend to skip, search the name as a keyword and leave the filter off.

Condition has five values, from New with tags down to Satisfactory. The seller picks one, and the wording is the same across the country sites.

Color is a palette, and sellers tick up to two shades per listing. Writing black in a title does not tick the Black box. If the filter returns too little, remove it and type the color into the search.

Price takes a minimum and a maximum in the site's currency. It works on the seller's price, the grey one. The teal figure under it adds Buyer Protection, so set your ceiling a little below the total you want to pay.

Material appears for clothing and accessories, as the seller tagged it.

Sort by offers Relevance, Price low to high, Price high to low and Newest first. Relevance mixes in promoted listings marked Bumped. Use Newest first for a search you repeat.

No. Quotes don't work either. We ran iphone 16, iphone -16 and "iphone 16" in quotation marks. The three searches returned the same listings in the same order, with a $35 phone case in second place.

The box has no exclude field and no exact-phrase mode. Autocomplete shows what that costs you. Type iphone 16 and nine of the ten suggestions are cases and accessories, because most sellers list those under the phone's name.

Filters do the job operators can't. Pick the phone subcategory, or set Brand to Apple with a $150 price floor, and the cases drop off the page.

Vinted's engineering team has published how its search works. The index held about one billion listings in late 2024. The engine matches each query three ways at once.

• A word match against the listing text.
• Filters read from the query. Vinted treats red dress as color red plus the dress category, so a listing tagged that way can appear under a different title.
• A visual match built from the main photo plus the brand, category and color fields. Vinted caps how many of these it adds, so they fill gaps in thin results.

Autocomplete runs on its own system. Vinted says over 20% of searches start from a suggestion, picked from a pool of 125 million in 24 languages. Suggestions taken from real queries make up 2% of that pool and get half the clicks. The list forgives a typo after the first letter and adapts to your past clicks. Read it as a record of how other buyers phrase things.

Each filter you set lands in the address bar. Here is the URL from our test after ticking Black.

Delete time and search_id, since they only track the session. The parameters that matter are below.

In our view the URL is the most underused part of Vinted search. Bookmark a finished search and it reopens in one click. Edit price_to by hand instead of reopening the panel. Paste the same query string after vinted.de or vinted.fr, since brand ids match across sites, and you see that market's stock.

Brand pages follow the same pattern. vinted.com/brand/53-nike holds the Nike listings with the filter row on top.

The page size is fixed. We added per_page=96 to the URL and the page kept its default count.

Save search sits at the top right of a results page. Press it and the button turns into Delete search. The query and its filters then show up when you click into the empty search box.

Vinted's help centre describes the rest. A +N next to the saved search counts listings added since your last look, and the number resets once you open it. You can save as many searches as you like. A search you leave unopened for six months disappears.

Pushes are a separate setting. Vinted puts a New items switch under Other notifications, with a daily cap of two by default. Its help centre ties that switch to members you follow. Expect a counter in the app and the odd push, well after the listing went live.

The camera icon in the search box opens an upload window. Drop in a screenshot and Vinted shows listings that look like it.

A photo of a stranger's outfit works, and so does a listing photo when you want a cheaper copy of the same item.

Member search is the other tool. Switch the Catalog dropdown to Members, type a username and open the closet. The filters work inside it, so a seller's 400 listings shrink to your size in one tap. Following a seller adds their new listings to your notifications, under the same daily cap.

Use model numbers. WH-1000XM5 returns headphones, while sony headphones brings cables and cases along. The same goes for 501, Dunk Low or any code printed on a label.

Search the misspellings. Levis, Levi and Levi Strauss return different listings, and fewer buyers see the misspelled ones, so they sell cheaper. Autocomplete will offer the correct spelling. Press enter on yours.

Search in the site's language. The word match needs the local term, so on vinted.de Jacke finds far more than jacket.

Or search with filters alone. Knitwear, navy, wool and your size will catch the French pull marine, the Dutch trui and the seller who wrote sweater. Typing woolen navy jumper finds only listings that use those words, so run both and compare.

Try made in Italy or made in France with your size and a category. Most of what comes back is unbranded and older, at unbranded prices.

Check the upload time on the item page. A good price posted twenty minutes ago won't last through a negotiation. A seller whose listing has sat for three months is the one to send a low offer.

Favorite what you want. Vinted builds your homepage feed from your hearts, and ten of them turn the feed into a second search that runs while you browse.

Look for labels that were well made in the 1990s and 2000s and are out of fashion now. One buyer who publishes her saved searches hunts Furla for leather bags and Max Mara for wool. Most of her finds cost €20 to €60.

Watch the calendar. Vinted's data puts unwanted christmas gifts among the most clicked UK suggestions in December, so January is the month to search for gift items.

Scan titles for dupe, inspired and repro. Sellers use these words for lookalikes, and the search has no way to hide them.

Vinted runs about 27 country sites, and each account belongs to one. Vinted groups countries into blocs that trade with each other. A buyer in Spain sees French listings. A UK account sees none of the EU sites and trades with the US and Australia instead, for parcels up to 2 kg. Vinted reshuffles the blocs from time to time, so check the delivery options before you count on a listing.

No filter picks a seller's country. You can open another country site and reuse the URL parameters to browse it, though your account may not be able to buy there.

Each results page shows what sellers listed before you pressed enter. Filters narrow that snapshot, and the saved search counts what arrived later. A well-priced Dunk Low in a common size sells within the hour, so the usual workaround is refreshing Newest first every ten minutes.
